Hey everyone –
We’ll be hosting our 3rd Annual Fall Olympic Weightlifting Competition here on Oct. 23rd. We’ll have posters and stuff made up shortly but I wanted to get this out to everyone as soon as possible.
It’s an unsanctioned, open event, so anyone can enter. Rules will be the same as a sanctioned event, however the only requirement will be a pair of weightlifting shoes. Cost will be $10 and will cover the entry fee, and bbq afterwards. The meet will start at either 12:00 or 1:00, and depending on the number of lifters, will be done in a few hours.
We’re looking at finding some local sponsors for this one, and hoping for 30 to 40 competitors. It will be a big help for us as hosts to know approximately how many athletes to expect, so please let me know how many you plan to bring.
We really encourage anyone who has interest to come and lift. This is a fun event and is a good opportunity to promote and learn more about the sport of weightlifting.
